Hello! This page is devoted to helping you access the sources that are available to you in the net. This page also aims to help you organize the data the you have gathered and use the internet as a tool to make your work more efficient and less costly as you collaborate with your classmates.
These are some of the things that this page aims to teach you
use of sources in our online classroom at the Jason.org
use of googledocs to create online files with your groupmates
use the SurveyMonkey and googledocs to produce a survey form and to collect data
use a social networking site such as Diigo to access and share favorite sites
If you know of other tools that you and your classmates could find useful, please don't hesitate to inform me so I can give you access to edit this page.
Jason.org
I have created a classroom for your section. You can enroll in this classroom by using this access code 1EAE-150. As a student you have now an access to their digital library which contains links, pdf files, pictures and even videos about topics that you might have difficulty understanding. you can also get access to REAL scientists through this site.
Starting this second quarter I'll be using our online classroom to assign activities and quizzes so make sure you enrol.
google documents
The google documents allows you to work together realtime on projects which could either be word/texts, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings or even create, distribute and manage survey forms.
The first step you need to make is to create a google account. once you open your account a link at the top of your page directs you to your google docs. From there you can start working on your projects. Just for practice, click this link to a spreadsheet that I have created and supply the data required from you Amethyst Online Directory. Note also that the Pre-test and PBL guidelines that I have posted in the PBL on Thermodynamics page were created by Ms. Mordeno and myself simultaneously using the google documents.
SurveyMonkey
The SurveyMonkey.com allows users to gather survey data via survey. It presents gathered data immediately without the hassle of going through voluminous data.
To get a feel, answer this survey. You may also want to create your on survey and send it to your friends or classmates.
Diigo.com
This site, allows you to bookmark sites that you find interesting or helpful in any computer connected to the internet and access it from any computer also as long as it is connected to the net. It is called a social bookmarking site because it allows you to link to your friends and share your sites to them. Diigo also allows you to check out the sites that your friends have bookmarked. If you want to try it, you can visit and add me as your friend so you can see the sites that I frequently visit.
I know that the instructions/guides that I have provided above is just a brief overview. I suggest that you use them so you can explore better. Should you find some of my statements above ambiguous please don't hesitate to ask me either through email (in this site na lang) or in our discussion board so that more of your classmates can see your question also.
Thank you and I hope you will find this page useful.
